Charge-Through Updated
Participation à la tri-jam du 20/04/2025 dans le cadre de nos études en Jeu vidéo à la Haute Ecole Albert Jacquard (Namur, Belgique)
Charge up your clients' electronics. Once finished, put them in the box. You have 60 seconds to charge up 5 objects. There's a universal adapter in case you need to charge the same object twice, but don't forget to put it back in the box after every use!

Concept process
We simply took the idea of "low on battery" in a pretty straighforward way. A lot of objects of our daily lives require to be charged before use which isn't really a problem when you're at home. But what about the people outside? They don't really have a socket close to them. So we thought about some sort of stand that would work like a drive-through where people could give their electronics to someone who would charge them up and give them back. Since not every devices charges with the same charger, this person would have access to different sockets, enough for three different devices and a universal adaptater in case two devices of the same type need to be charged.
What's fun about the game
Simply putting the right device on the right socket sets up a habit, but once two devices of the same type appear, the player has to make a choice and sacrifice one socket for the adaptater. Making that choice and having to adapt to whatever comes next makes the player's task either easier or harder.
Issues met
The lack of time and experience in game development meant trouble for us of course. After the jam; the game ended up not having any sounds, the difficulty wasn't (still isn't) well adjusted and there was no adapter.
Present issues
If we had more experience, time and knowledge we would have gladly made an even better game, with more sockets, the possibility of them being jammed by water drops and a more adjusted difficulty.
